Automated Barrel Blasters

EMPIRE AUTOMATED BARREL BLASTERS
The automatic way to speedy, small parts finishing.
Designed to handle larger parts, Empire Pro-Finish barrel blasters come in two models:
-
BB-2 model with a 26” diameter by 19” wide basket with a 300 lb. weight capacity
-
BB-4 with a 30” diameter by 30” wide basket with a 800 lb. weight capacity
Both models have tune-able re-claimers to assure uniform finishing and to reduce media waste. They are built with many special features to meet the demands of continuous production blasting. These blasters use glass beads and aluminum oxide.

EMPIRE BASKET BLASTERS
For a fast, efficient, and economical method of finishing, they are also small parts basket blasters.
To finish parts, you simply drop them in the BBO’s 9”x9” basket, set the timer, and they tumble. As parts are rotated through an abrasive blast stream, they are cleaned, finished, or peened evenly and automatically. By simply varying air pressure and abrasive media, you control the type of finish you get as well as required processing times.
Blast Cabinets

SUCTION BLAST CABINETS
Pro-Finish suction cabinets cost less and are simpler than pressure cabinets. These suction cabinets blast continuously without the need to stop for media refills, and they simplify the use of multiple nozzles. The results are usually comparable to those achieved with a pressure system although production rates are not so high. When initial cost and maintenance are primary concerns, the suction system is a good choice.
Pro-Finish suction systems come in five sizes and can be specified with a collector or dust bag on smaller units. A media re-claimer is optional. However, when using media that can be recovered, a re-claimer is advisable. Re-claimers normally pay for themselves quickly in terms of reducing waste and high-quality, repeatable results.
Pro-Finish suction cabinets are available with many factory options that contribute to ease-of-operation, reduced maintenance, and greater productivity. Pro-Finish’s modular design lets you upgrade to a pressure system in the field at any time, enabling you to build on your original investment.
SUCTION BLAST AIR REQUIREMENTS (SCFM)

PRESSURE BLAST CABINETS
Because pressure cabinets deliver blast media at higher velocities than suction systems, a Pro-Finish pressure cabinet is ideal for turning out work fast. In many applications, these pressure cabinets will perform jobs four-times faster than suction systems. In addition, they use compressed air more efficiently and provide more precise blasting control at high and low operating pressures. For really demanding tasks, like removing tight mill scale or finishing hard-to-reach surfaces, a pressure system is normally the only practical choice.
Pro-Finish pressure cabinets come in six sizes with dust collectors and media re-claimers provided as standard equipment. (Less expensive dust bags can be specified with some models.)
With Empire re-claimers, Pro-Finish pressure cabinets not only reduce operating cost associated with the purchase and disposal of media, but also assure consistent results shift after shift. Plus, they are available with options designed to meet almost any production need.

EMPIRE PROFORMER BLAST CABINETS
Empire’s inexpensive Econo-Finish blast cabinets feature a unique front-access door that simplifies loading of parts, saves floor space, and speeds finishing operations.
Designed for light-to-medium cleaning and surface-finishing jobs, these economical cabinets combine sturdy, 14 gauge steel construction with the features you need to perform a wide-range of finishing tasks. All Econo-Finish cabinets are equipped with a foot-treadle blast control for ease-of-operation, an external media-regulation device, quick-change, safety glass, and an improved, dust collection system.
In addition, you can select from upgraded features such as production-quality blast nozzles or a high-capacity dust collector that extends operating intervals between clean-outs. The DC-16 and DC-30 dust collectors feature a cartridge filter with 16 gallon and 30 gallon dust capacities and built-in silencers.
Econo-Finish cabinets are available in two basic configurations: models with two-piece, swing-down/ flip-up doors for maximum interior access or an even more economical unit with a swing-down door only. Models with two-piece doors can be specified with a standard upgrade package designed to extend usage and maximize production.
